OBDLink® LX is a budget-priced, pocket-size Bluetooth OBD-II adapter for all OBD-II compliant vehicles (except hybrid or electric vehicles). It can be used as a diagnostic scan tool, trip computer, logger, and real-time performance monitor. OBDLink LX surpassed performance in every competing Bluetooth OBD-II adapter, delivering 300% more data samples per second. Its BatterySaver™ sleep mode allows the adapter to stay plugged in continually, without draining the vehicle’s battery.

Unlike the vast majority of Bluetooth OBD adapters, which constantly broadcast their presence and use an easy-to-guess 4-digit PIN, OBDLink® LX utilizes a unique multi-layered link security mechanism, eliminating the risk of unauthorized access. OBDLink LX’s support of the de facto standard ELM327 command set, makes it compatible with tons of third-party OBD software and mobile apps.

OBDwiz and OBDLink app, included with OBDLink® LX, allow you to:

  • Turn off the check engine light, and erase stored diagnostic information
  • Read and erase stored, pending, and permanent trouble codes (both generic and manufacturer-specific)
  • Access freeze frame information
  • Display, graph, and log 90+ real-time parameters
  • Create custom digital dashboards
  • Measure and display fuel economy
  • And much more!

This is a wonderful tool whether you're a tech or enthusiast looking for info for troubleshooting or improving things, or if you're just interested in what's going on, such as looking at fuel savings. It's mostly non-intrusive due to its size, and as long as the OBD2 port is out of the way, it doesn't interfere with driving. It works with its own Android software, or if you'd prefer, Torque Pro. Outside of a known issue with my car, I have run into no problems with using this device, only that I had to develop a habit to prevent further issues. The problem is likely with my car and not the OBDLink.

NOTE: I use this on a Scion FR-S. I don't know if this issue exists on other makes and/or models, but if you start your vehicle with Torque already running, it is possible it can trigger some error codes, and if it does, is likely to cause some ECU issues (ie: doesn't turn on one of the fuel rails causing drastic loss of power). The damage is not permanent. Turn off Torque (completely), turn off car, wait, turn on car, turn on Torque, reset remaining fault codes, turn off Torque, turn off car, wait, then start car again. Everything should be happy again. I have developed a habit of turning off Torque before I turn off my car when I park. (Posted on 9/25/2015)

This works really well. I have no problem syncing it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I have tested it on a Ford Escape Hybrid and a Ford Fusion Energi using the FORScan app in the Google Play store. It was able to read all of the HSCAN modules including those hybrid unique components. (Posted on 9/25/2015)
Just what I needed.Review by Tim

For some reason, my car does not come from the factory with coolant temp or boost gauges (yeah, it's S/C'd - go figure). The OBDLink LX allows me to monitor all important information from one screen. I love it! (Posted on 2/1/2015)
